Ferguson Enterprises Inc. Participates in Cobo Hall Seminar with Detroit Public Schools

DPS Emergency Financial Manager, Robert Bobb, announcement for a $500 million dollar bond program was great news for Detroit’s construction and building trades and their employees.

“We’re working our way through to make sure that … bona fide Detroit residents get the first opportunities to work on these jobs or these apprenticeships or pre-apprenticeships in the skilled trades, and Detroit-based companies are in the mix,” Bobb said to about 200 architects and others interested in bidding on bond projects.

Bobby Ferguson, CEO of Detroit’s Ferguson Enterprises was first to express his thoughts on Bobb’s proposed Project Labor Agreement. “I’m ecstatic about what I heard today,” said Bobby. “Detroit’s real unemployment is over 50%. The 11,000 jobs for these planned Detroit School bond programs will definitely help our community and students.”

Ferguson Enterprises, Inc., (FEI) has a long and successful partnership with the Detroit Public School administration. “We have had major involvement in the selective demolition as well as earthwork and installation of utilities and water mains,” explained the second generation Ferguson.
